Lou Dobbs condemns Washington's deplorable use of 'wedge issues' such as the proposed ban on gay marriage to polarize the nation and further partisan agendas. Using the phrase "wedge issues" ten times won't win you the Pulitzer this time... Dobbs establishes his credibility with conservatives by using affective words to describe his reactionary positions: "illegal aliens *flood*", "*drowning* in debt", "war against *radical* Islamist terrorists". This story speaks to more than just the spurious ban on gay marriage, it speaks to the current administrations continued slight of hand. This administration has been successful at polarizing the country over social and personal morality decision thereby diverting people from focusing on the really important issues of the economy, education and health care.
