Republicans Test 2010 Message: Cancel the Stimulus

The day after President Obama signed the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) took to the airwaves to offer voters a different kind of new deal.

It still seems that the only response national Republican leaders consider are negative. I still have not heard any alternatives in any depth from them.

Does no one remember during the Regan recession when the then remedies didn't seem to be working that the Republican mantra was 'give the medicine time to work'. And why does the Republican PR machine always unnerve the Democrats?

No. It quotes the Republican without ever commenting on the validity or logic of what they are quoting

Republican back on their Johnny one-note. cut taxes. They just keep mindlessly repeating cut taxes as though it were a magic incantation that would solve everything for us. They also know that it is too early for any strong effect of the stimulus, as does the writwer of thwe article, I am sure. They are not debating the issue. They are still playing politics "while rome burns."
