Kind of a descriptive piece -- more observation than analysis. Broder says that rising unemployment has sapped public confidence in big ventures like health care reform, but as WaPo's Ezra Klein points out, the public is also ambivalent about it largely because they don't see where or how their health care will improve. Broder also seems to buy into the Congressional bickering over the cost, but doesn't give it the space it deserves here.

The article brings some bullet items up that need to be more in the forefront.

Now that Obama is going to be back in country he had better start waving a very big stick- for sure at the damn Blue Dog Democrats- who are out of control!
