Uighurs vs Han: China's West Side Story

Uighurs are in the news: a handful were released from Guantanamo in June, and others rioted in western China in July. Huge numbers of Han Chinese have moved into the region, where the indigenous Uighers have been fighting domination by China since the 1800s. This story provides clips from a broad spectrum of sources, providing much more truth about the situation in Xinjiang(New Territories)/Eastern Turkmenistan than is usually readily available in the West.

I saw Han prejudice against all of the Chinese minorities, including Uighurs, when in China in 1988-89, 1995, and 1997.
