As Congress takes on President Obama’s call for overhauling health care, the desire for change will be tested — by the expense, by politics, by resistance from doctors and private insurers, and by the general fear by some of “socialized medicine.”

An interesting, through brief, look at American health care reform efforts and successes by previous U.S. presidents.

A side note: The publication this article is from, the Bay State Banner, "has decided to suspend publication with this week’s edition, ending — at least temporarily — the long-running, African American-owned weekly newspaper," according to a statement on its Web site. Financial hardship, as facing many other publications, is the primary reason.
