The claims have been around for months, as have the pictures of the devices. Then they were called IEDs, though they are now being referred to in other -- actually more accurate -- terms. At the time the biggest slur one could throw was to call something an IED, so that was the phrase of choice although they were never improvised but were manufactured. Now, in the suspected run-up to another war we see this issue being glommed upon by the administration as the key issue for future action. This story raises key questions about those claims, and the people who are delivering the message. This article exposes a classic example of what the noted philosopher Yogi Berra so eloquently refers to as "deja vu all over again". This NY Times reporter repeats a disturbing pattern of getting it wrong with national security issues. Speaking of philosophers, the American public is wisw, and "won't be fooled again"!

This story provides a short caution that the sources of all claims that Iran is supplying bombs used in Iraq are anonymous government officials and that claims lack evidence. However, the bulk of the article addresses not trusting the reporter because of a previous government inspired story.

There's a site called Iraq Slogger-sorry don't have the exact online name-they have an article today saying that lots of people belive the surface to air missles are coming from China, not Iran. As the article points out, most of the shoot downs of helo's are in Sunni areas.
