the tone well portrayed in this piece is a personal sorrow, with passionate disappointment and disillusion -- with president obama, with the media and with the situation in afghanistan which is going to continue.

I loved some of his use of language and certainly am concerned about the same issues, but it is just another comment in the same vein as most of the commentary from this perspective.
