HELP Is on the Way

Let me start by pointing out something serious health economists have known all along: on general principles, universal health insurance should be eminently affordable.

After all, every other advanced country offers universal coverage, while spending much less on health care than we do. For example, the French health care system covers everyone, offers excellent care and costs barely more than half as much per person as our system. Full Story »

This is typical of Paul Krugman. His opinion pieces are always his opinion - however - when he gives his opinion, he does so with considerable detail and study. It reads part article / part term-paper although missing the foot-notes. Fact is, he has more credibility on this subject than most that dare opine - he's already proved he's not carrying anyone's water except the American public. Fine article. He systematically responded to the strawman arguments while actually re-stating (without equivocation) hardened fact.

I will continue to rate some articles, however, sure as clockwork - the irregulars (what I like to refer to as the News Trust Ideologues at large) will feel compelled to register their dissatisfaction with my point of view and waste my time, your time and their time by rating my review, since they believe this only to be a tool of political mining and not it's intended purpose of rating quality journalism. In this case Professor Krugman does his typical fine job of delivering the painfully obvious with aplomb and enough supporting fact to warrant further consideration. Unlike the NT gestapo that will trash my review, Krugman is logical.
