How Do You Do the Things You Do?

Now that we're under way, maybe we should throw out a nuts-and-bolts question about what goes into making an editorial page. For instance, how much choice do you have on the topics you write about? Who has the ultimate say on your editorials? And do you consult your editorial board or your publisher before an editorial is written, or do you await a stamp of approval?
