Wal-Mart Gets Behind Employer Mandate

(Blog Post) Wal-Mart, the world’s largest private employer, announced in a letter to President Obama today that it will support a requirement that all businesses provide health insurance coverage as part of sweeping health reform legislation.

The move by Wal-Mart is given a good initial straight up report. Motivations and background can come later.

The long history of cut-throat anti-labor vehemence from Wal-Mart makes one a little hesitant to praise what looks like a moderate social awakening, perhaps an awakening motivated by analysis of the total cost of public disdain plus cost of health care. I await the actions, not the talk.
