As a retired ED nurse, I can attest to the fact that if all Americans had access to primary or preventative care we could save a lot of money. As a supporter of UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER, HR676 or S 703, this article makes me question some of the issues raised by economists. Health care providers should be consulted not just for profit insurance companies and their shareholders. We have rationing now because many people can't afford insurance. Why did many employers move some of their operations to Canada, the UK, Germany or France? One thing is that the employers do not have to worry about providing health care benefits as they do in the USA. At least, I think this is one reason.
