A pretty unlettered analysis. Is Egypt "keen" on Iranians' human rights? What a question -- of course not. This is so patently an opportunistic move by Egypt to capitalize on the instability, I have a hard time believing how any reasonable observer could see it otherwise.

I guess LA TImes style dictates no dateline, but the byline does say the reporter is in Cairo… which makes this a good job reporting something that they can actually see re: Iran.

While this story makes a few good points, it is entirely too short and lacking in detail to be of great value.

It is interesting that opinion in other countries is changing without involvement from the United States.

Surprising that Egypt would take on Iran's election when its own past elections have come into question. But asking for more forceful international reactions to the current Iran election from an Middle East nation is indeed most hopeful.

In a round about way it has put its finger on the critical issue - namely election reform.

The oppositions in all these professed democracies should flag trying to get elected and instead campaign for a fair election system. The devil is in the detail. Simple reforms such as a/some representative(s) of each party at every polling station. Inspection of evey ballot box before it is locked and used, Full ballot boxes stored in plain sight and counted by all parties on site.
