"The jobless rate for young black men and women is 30.5 percent." - This is quite disturbing news. V. Dion Haynes offers an alarming account of the situation young black people are facing. The readable article combines the description of personal fate with a sketch of the general picture which seems to indicate covered racial discrimination.

I really hope the Obama administration will take note of the problem described and is going to address the issue. There should be some support specifically aimed at helping jobless young black people.

For young blacks .. race statistically appears to be a bigger factor in their unemployment than age, income or even education. .. even blacks who graduate from college suffer joblessness at twice the rate of their white peers.
