Welcome Back, Congress

If you believe in the legislative process -- if you actually believe that members of Congress have a role in formulating the laws of this land, rather than just rubber-stamping whatever the president wants -- then you really can't get freaked out when that process gets messy. It is a messy process.

Thoughtful column about the the Obama administration's latest challenges, as it faces rising concerns from Congress and the public about its latest proposals. The author provides a great round-up of insights from around the web on the current setback, which helps put this issue into better perspective.

I'm sorry that the Washington Post is ending its relationship with Dan Froomkin, whose White House Watch blog provided an invaluable service. We hope that he will be able to continue this important work in another capacity. We enjoyed our collaboration with him last January and wish him well in his next endeavors.
