Sabin Willett is one of the few who have stood up for the Uighurs-- not just because he's taken their case pro bono, but in the midst of right-wing hysteria, he has repeatedly presented credible facts. He is to be commended for doing so.

The fact that 17 INNOCENT Uighur men were detained for 7 years even though it was known they were not terrorists, and the fact that the so-called mainstream media allowed right-wing talking points ("They're dangerous! They trained with Al Qaeda!!!") to be presented without anyone from the other side is deplorable. These men deserve a new start. They wanted freedom from Chinese government repression, but they never harmed anyone, and it's lazy journalism to say they were "the worst ... More »
