California Wants To Cut Legal Aid Attorneys For Poor

Unlike any other public service, court-appointed counsel cannot be scaled back. According to the Constitution, every criminal defendant, rich or poor, gets one. Golly! If this was the only stupid, short-sighted thing the California governor was planning to terminate, we'd be overjoyed here in the golden state. Instead I'm afraid this is just one of many. Depressingly true and accurate story.
