Quotes from experts are good. One-sidedness is not. There are no quotes from a supporter of Obama's plans, and no defense offered. This is a solid opinion piece, but doesn't belong in the Business section.

The article is likely right. Obama, by not trying to fix the budget (or at least only making perfunctory attempts) is making matter worse.

“Things will get worse gradually,” Mr. Auerbach predicts, “unless they get worse quickly.” Either a solution will be put off, or foreign lenders, spooked by the rising debt, will send interest rates higher and create a crisis.
