Obama's Pay-Go Flameout

(Blog Post) If President Obama thought he'd score some easy political points by endorsing new PAYGO legislation to control deficit spending, he was sadly mistaken. Mediocre lede followed by an amazing quote. It's a good look at how Congress is doing a poor job of policing themselves.

*sigh* It's amazing how inept our congress is – they propose a bill which they claim will force them to be less inept, get the president to endorse it, and… then come out and say that it does nothing. Politics at it's worst.

“This is like qutting drinking, but making an exception for beer and hard liquor,” said Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, an advocacy group.
