MacLennan gives a clear on-site report. Oil corporations exploiting Peru without mind for local workers and the environment gives rise to resistance in Peru. The massacre by the police is followed by retaliation against the police. The connection to the Peruvian free trade agreement is explored, as it was used by the government to take land from the indigenous people. Government control of the press is noted.
