The death of the printed newspaper does not have to result in the death of quality journalism. The paper is just a medium. The medium must now change--due to the realities of changes in society, technology, economics and the environment. The business model must now change too. A 5.0. From me. To a journalist. No way, Jose. If a profession has to die, and I think they are burying it way to soon, you can't go out on a higher note.
A journalist is an integral part of society. They find the people who steal our money. That's basically what they do. I know, they cover wars, etc, but there's money there too.
This is a hard piece the rate, but I see little value in it. Yet another journalist romanticizing their profession, as if journalists have been wronged. Journalist do important work - yes. But spending too much energy romanticizing the past doesn't serve the public they profess to serve.
