What seems to be lacking in this story any analysis of the well- organized opposition to Mr. Carter's book, including the manner that many highly placed Democrats are distancing themselves from the former president's views. No one seriously questions the former President's ethos on this issue. Carter has been recognized for doing more to promote peace in the Middle East than any other American president before or since he held office. And he has stated that he believes peace remains an obtainable objective, but it requires honest negotiation from all parties and a willingness to bring about a just peace. So who are Mr. Carter's American detractors and what motivates their attacks on his position?

A living President being interviewed about one of the most persistent problems facing our world is important. The interviewer didn't dodge the tough questions, and while Carter bristled at certain points, the interview was civil and informative.

This interview with President Carter is direct & to the point. The interviewer asks President Carter directly to address some of the criticisms of his new book. There is no waffling by either the interviewer or interviewee.

Jimmy Carter has been in the region for a very long time and although some may disagree with him, his opinion and analysis are very well-informed. The interviewer (Steve Inskeep) did a good job of asking tough questions and not 'softballing' the former president.

Carter continues to be attacked the religious zealots of the far right Israelia lobby in the United States. No one should be afraid to express the truth about the apartheid policies of the Israeli government. No one should be afraid to criticize Israel. This is a good expose of the attacks on Carter.
