Approval of U.S. Leadership Up in Some Arab Countries

President Barack Obama may find audiences in many Arab countries more willing to listen when he addresses the Muslim world Thursday from Cairo, Egypt. New Gallup Polls conducted in 11 Arab countries show that although approval of U.S. leadership remains generally low, ratings are up in 8 countries including Egypt. Full Story »

An interesting insight into the Muslim world. While Obama hasn't been in office long, hasn't really done much in the Middle East, his approval ratings are slightly higher.

In reality, America's popularity couldn't have been much lower. Bush/Cheney didn't do this country any favors

Informative poll results about how U.S. leadership is perceived in 11 Arab countries. While the approval ratings have increased since June 2008, they still remain quite low, suggesting that Obama still has much work to do to gain more support in the Arab world.

Very interesting numbers from various Arab countries.

Obama's low poll showing in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories would move much higher if he came out publicly supporting the Arab League peace plan and for an end to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Golan Heights (including a small piece of Lebanon).
