Posted by Manfred OstrowskiThis commentary is certainly not the best from E.J. Dionne. He has missed the main point. In past those who come from the center to serve on the Supreme Court has left.
With Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalia so far to the right, anyone new is likely to move to the left.
This opinion piece stands on its own without the admonitions to political strategists of any feather. Heretofore, not many writers have found value in discussing Sotomayor's centrist appellation, yet Dionne constructed a sound argument for his title.
Although this is an opinion article, it is firmly based on facts so far as I can tell. The argument is given in clear language and convincing composition. As one would expect, one of E.J. Dionne's regular works of quality journalism.
I think E.J. Dionne gives a clear picture and seems to be a voice of reason at times of emerging controversial and ideological debate.
