In a 2002 speech, she doubted whether judges can transcend their personal sympathies and prejudices “even in most cases” and questioned whether they should do so at all.

Read that quote with emphasis on the last phrase of the sentence. Do we want a judge at any level that advocates using personal sympathies instead of constitutional and statutory law to decide the outcome of cases?
