The sides are not hiding there intent, but this article does show they are hiding their true alignment.

The majority of attacks and criticism I have seen of the judge come not from the left or center, but from the cons and ultra cons pretending to be liberal and saying she is not liberal enough. This has been a hallmark of the slash and burn politics of the last 20 years, or more beginning with a labor leader who turned in his own union member to the house unamerican activities committee and later ran for office based on his high moral standards,

Several conservatives were already demonstrating a tactic they plan to continue: quoting criticisms of Judge Sotomayor’s temperament from commentators they call liberal

“I don’t know exactly what his(Rush Limbaugh) legal expertise is,” Mr. Axelrod said. “But if he had it, what he would know is that she ruled in that case on the law. In fact, the decision was rendered in keeping with the precedent of the 2nd Circuit. And in the brief opinion, the panel ruled — the panel said they had felt solicitude for the firefighters but they were bound by the precedent in the circuit.”
