This opinion piece veers off course after the initial sentence quoting the Court. Further in the article the same action is referred to as a bow to the ballot box by the Court. So either this article suffers from dyslexia or it was an opinion piece with little value.

“That sigh of judicial restraint was actually issued by the California Supreme Court” -—- “The California Supreme Court’s bow to the ballot box ….”

Theses two assertions appear in the same article – confusing at the very least.
