I believe that white America's embrace of Obama is a virtually unalloyed good. It's good because Obama is a dynamic and exciting candidate who is offering not only a racial truce but also a fresh and progressive take on many issues. This article resonated with me because I am a mixed-race individual as well. Kamiya has many interesting arguments such as when he states that "whiteness is the marker of racial invisibility in America." Also, he points out how many Americans let his or her race define them.
