the admission of Ukraine is not in the interests of Russia, the United States, or, surprisingly, even the Ukraine. A good look at the downsides for all three of the major parties in this enterprise. It does not look at any of the positives, but has good arguments for its side.

I don't know of many positive things that could come from this alliance, but I am aware that we have long known that we could not withstand a conventional Soviet/Russian advance in Europe with only conventional weapons.
