the writer tracks how the bill limiting how banks can charge credit card costs got done. i'd like to have seen more examples of abuses, and more information on the banks' stated objections. the weapons' amendment argument here demonstrates the downside of how the congressional political process works even with a non-controversial bil, and i'd like to have read more comments on that.

the national parks' weapons amendment seems a very high price to pay for a bill that appears to be so popular.
