Lobbyists Skirt Disclosures on Stimulus Lobbying

We know that, like any giant pot of government money, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act attracted lobbyists’ interest. Lobbyists have long been required to give Congress quarterly disclosure reports outlining their lobbying efforts. In the latest quarterly reports, no less than 871 lobbyists [2] indicated lobbying on the stimulus.

The article show how for every new reform, we create new ways to skirt arouind the law.

Until entire firms and all their employees are classified as lobbyist, until firms& individual subcontracted by lobbyist are classified as lobbyist, and until the penalty for violation is akin to a corporate death penalty, these types of abuses will continue.
