Lobbyists Skirt Disclosures on Stimulus Lobbying
We know that, like any giant pot of government money, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act attracted lobbyists’ interest. Lobbyists have long been required to give Congress quarterly disclosure reports outlining their lobbying efforts. Until entire firms and all their employees are classified as lobbyist, until firms& individual subcontracted by lobbyist are classified as lobbyist, and until the penalty for violation is akin to a corporate death penalty, these types of abuses will continue.
