Trial begins against Seattle Archdiocese as priest faces two abuse victims

Patrick O'Donnell, one of the state's most notoriously abusive priests, is testifying this week in a trial accusing the Seattle Archdiocese of not doing enough to protect two boys from O'Donnell when he served in Seattle in the late 1970s. It's one of only a handful of such lawsuits to go to trial nationwide and the first to go to trial against the Seattle Archdiocese. Full Story »

The journalists include quite a bit of information beyond the instigating news of the trial being under way. The story provides a cogent reminder of the church reputation as the pope is hitting the trail in a public relations attempt to blur responsibility in the holocaust.

I suppose this sort of thing has to be reported but it happens so often in so many places that it is hardly news.

It is generally accepted that physically abused children often become physical abusers of children. I wonder if the same applies to sexual abuse. Catholic priests abuse young boys who become priests and abuse young boys who become priests and abuse young boys who........ A self propigaing society.
