These picture humanize the trauma and suffering caused by upheaval in Pakistan in a way no article I've read can. Looses points for context and factualness.

Well-done photo essays make the people affected by a story like this real for readers and help bring it home. One has to add a word of caution about the (necessary) limitations of a presentation like this.
