Obama Offers Compromise on D.C. Tuition Vouchers

President Obama will propose setting aside enough money for all 1,716 students in the District's voucher program to continue receiving grants for private school tuition until they graduate from high school, but he would allow no new students to join the program, administration officials said yesterday. Fails to mention the fact that most of the money and students go to religious schools, which is a major source of opposition to the program. Ends with a comment about a staying "while we're learning" when the stats show no improvement.

Today I wrote a letter in opposition to the D.C. voucher system because I think it violates the principal of separation of church and state.
