Excellent rebuttal to the scaremongering reports delivered by much of the US media and the Obama administration. The situation commands attention, but a Taliban takeover of Pakistan is not likely.

War is highly profitable for a select group. KBR has gained $43 billion in revenue from the Iraq and Afghan wars. Much of the diffiuclty in Pakistan is the direct result of ill-considered US military activities in Afghanistan. Time for the US to start lowering its military profile in the Middle East and Central Asia. Let Iran and Russia chart the best way forward to quieten the level of violence in Afghanistan before Pakistan gets even worse.
