I used to trust the L.A. Times, but this is not particularly good journalism. What local governments used zoning and permitting to pressure trailer residents? How way May 30 arrived at? What kind of affordable alternate housing is available? How accurate was the "suspicion" that "some people had grown comfortable in their free digs." If there was no data available on how many people could and could not afford to move, the article should have said so. I recommend the story because the topic is important, not because it's done well.

Heartbreaking.

This is quality journalim because it is timely and very relevant. This is an issue that people-not only in Louisiana-but all over the country should be concerned about.

The FEMA problem still remains four years later. It has turned into a huge problem without a proper solution. If these people had the means to leave these trailors, I believe they would. FEMA trailor parks are some of the worst/most dangerous areas to live in, and I can't imagine what it is going to look like when these people become homeless. Taking the trailors away will only increase the problem, dramatically.
