KIPP: Austin American-Statesman (Austin, TX) - ”Austin charter school attracting students: KIPP school plans to expand this summer”

The name of the East Austin charter school that Lopez chose had a nice ring to it: KIPP Austin College Prep. Lopez, who hopes to attend college, started the fifth grade there in summer 2003, a year after the school opened in a strip plaza on East Riverside Drive.

"It's something that my mom and I wanted me to go to because it was going to prepare me for college and some of the things would be a little bit more challenging," Lopez, now 11, said. Full Story »

There is a problem with stories that compare schools with selective admission with schools without selective admission, but fail to clarify that fact.
