Good work. McClatchy is among the few newspaper chains that have invested the resources necessary to adequately report the Iraq story.

Since I expected an ultimate bad end to Iraq, this is pretty much what I have expected. The peace we've seen was due to the presence of large numbers of US troops, putting thousands of insurgents on the US payroll (the Awakening Councils), and the fact that a few million Iraqis have left the country, have otherwise been displaced or have been killed (some might call it ethnic cleansing). Thus it was reasonable to expect it all to unravel as refugees attempt to return, US troops are replaced by locals and as the number of Iraqis on the US payroll declines. Given the circumstances, the article is fair and informative.
