This news analysis combines four platforms--text, hotlinks, digital photography and streaming video--to elevate it above others relying mostly on text. While the copy seems opinionated, the streaming video supports much of the analysis factually.

NewsTrust will need to revamp its largely text-based review forms to incorporate fact-based use of new media as an attribute of quality journalism.

Obama’s first speech to a joint session of Congress gave the Republicans a perfect opportunity to highlight a rising star. But Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s nationally televised response — he spoke from Baton Rouge in front of an oddly out-of-place spiral staircase — was widely panned as a disaster, with devastating comparisons to “Kenneth the Page” of TV’s “30 Rock.”

The video allows the user to decide whether the harsh analysis of Jindal was a cheap shot or bull’s eye.
