The bottom line is this: even though he says his views haven't changed and yes, his previous views did clearly articulate his acknowledgment of the genocide, his campaign promise was that as President he would acknowledge the Armenian genocide. Full Story »

Obama is right, and this in no way suggests the calamity was any lesser than it was. We should remember Turkey very nearly ceased to exist in the wake of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
