U.S. to publish pictures of Iraqi prisoner abuse as Obama faces new Abu Ghraib

The White House plans to release dozens of photographs depicting abuse of prisoners by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Some of the 'substantial number' of pictures from the notorious Abu Ghraib jail in Baghdad show soldiers intimidating or threatening detainees by pointing guns at them.

Defence Secretary Robert Gates said it was 'unrealistic' for the U.S. government to keep the photos secret. Full Story »
