The article summarizes a problem (well, it'r a pretty long summary) that's been around a long time. However, 'he said she said' basically alerts readers or viewers that yes,there is something going on here. What's missing is step 2 - the investigative report, which can be done by someone(s) different. Newspapers used to have these, as did TV stations. Some internet reportages do as well.
