Teens Love Aggregation and 'Free', Newspaper Study Finds

Teenagers aren't likely to pay for news and love aggregation sites, according to a new study. This is especially bad news for online newspapers since two of the big industry ideas right now are a) charge for content, and b) put the aggregators out of business.

Interesting report about a 2009 research study on how newspapers can engage with young people. It is largely based on information from a single source, the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) Foundation. based on their study with the Media Management Center at Northwestern University. Fascinating report nonetheless. Be sure to check the PDF study. (see link)

Interesting study of how teens want their news served. It seems they want it free, fast, visual and in small portions. If the study is right, maybe we should give them what they want -- then get them to use NewsTrust as a smart filter to find news they care about.

This is a great report on a report because it presents the key information in any easily digestible way. The content itself probably has limited interested to anyone not in the business of building a News Aggregator.
