Glenn Beck and the rise of Fox News' militia media

Fox News is playing an increasingly erratic and dangerous game by embracing paranoid insurrection rhetoric and conspiracy theorists.

Beck's sure "[d]epression and revolution" are what await America under Obama, and fears moving "towards a totalitarian state." The country today sometimes reminds Beck of "the early days of Adolf Hitler." Beck thinks that Obama, who has "surrounded himself by Marxists his whole life," is now "addicting this country to heroin -- the heroin that is government slavery." Full Story »

A fascinating look at the far right as the wheels come off the wagon. Looks at Glenn Becks way of handling the news, paranoia all over. Loads of personalities in on this growing hype storm. A good in depth look and worthy read.

While I am, as many here know, not an Obama fan, but once in office.he is ALL of ours President. Its fair enough to be tough and expect a lot. But this kind of lunacy for ratings can , as we've seen be very dangerous. FOX does it for ratings...the viewers miss the disconnect.

The opinion piece includes the stories of rampage murderers motivated by the hate rantings on right wing media to support the idea that the hate rantings present a danger to society. Thoughtful and well written.

It is time the riot act is read to these sociopaths. The victims' families should sue Fox News.

Multiple sources cited. Reasonable conclusions reached.

I explicitly recall, at the time of Bush's re-relection, the right screaming about how everyone of every ideology needed to back the President. Those who failed to do so were being unpatriotic, and possibly treasonous. Where are the well-deserved shouts of "treason!" now? They should be louder than ever, because this coordinated media attack on a President who has been in office less than 100 days is tantamount to treason.
