Today, more and more children are being raised by their grandparents. These grandparents provide a crucial safety net, allowing children whose parents can't provide for them to remain in families, instead of winding up as wards of the state. The so-called grandparents laws were put into effect for a good reason. If A husband's or wife's parents had plenty of money, the mother or father could gain control by showing the judge that the child could live with the grandparents, and the Judge most times went along, leaving the poor parent in the cold, especially if the other grandparents had a great lawyer. My daughter went through this problem, where her husbands parents were rich, and almost lost her child. There must be a middle ground for the children's sake, not the grandparents or the judge.
The problem most times is spite, and the kids are an after thought.
