Barack Obama, who remains widely popular at home and abroad, met Gordon Brown, the British prime minister, on Wednesday April 1st. Mr Obama conceded that “We're not going to agree on every point”. The article/update makes clear the attending countries haven't a concsensus on handling the banking crisis and much work needs to be done to close the divide. Delves into the role of the IMF and emerging economys.

A competant outline of the issues, I suspect in very short order..they will come together with an agreement and depart pleased. Its in everyones best interest to stop wagging fingers and they will privately at least.

The writer tries to predict what the G-20 will do, when they don't even know. It seems at ever meeting someone wants to walk out in protest. Obama raised a point about Roosevelt and Stailn, sitting down with a brandy, and working things out, like it was easy, Compared to 20 members, it was a walk in the park.

Obamas popularity seems to be working. He's getting a few more things than he thought he was going to get.Not much, but some.
