Will NAFTA exterminate Canadian pesticide bans?

"The ban would eliminate the use of conventional pesticides for cosmetic purposes on lawns, gardens, school yards and parks," says an Ontario government press release. That means 250 products containing one or more chemicals on a list of prohibited materials will be pulled out of stores by Earth Day on April 22.

The arrogance of international corporations to instigate and then try to enforce NAFTA regulations against the will of democratically elected local officials is spotlighted here with a dandelion killer and Ontario.

Short term profit maximization is mandated by law, and it imperils the public good.
