This is a straight forward news report on actions taken by a North Carolina gas company to provide incentives to customers to conserve. It covers both the actions and rate hike approved to pay for them.

While the story is principally of regional interest, it reports actions typical of those ordered by public utility commissions at various locations around the country.

This story puts the emphasis on providing fairly extensive and useful consumer info, not context or even any personal viewpoints. Certainly a must-read for any NC home owner.
