Levine reports the "compromise" suggested by some major retailers. Unlike the Washington Post article echoed in the local Seattle Times, Levine properly categorizes the proposal as a gutting of the EFCA. However, his opinions on the effect this will have lack many convincing sources.

Unions are needed to counter the vastly unequal bargaining power of an individual against a large corporation. Corporations threatening union organizers and firing them without cause needs to stop. Corporations stonewalling negotiations with a new union needs to stop. I am a 40 year proud union member.
