The quote I've included sums it all up. The GOP is not even the same GOP that was dominant 10 years ago. I've noticed more and more that the bulk of people that I know or know of, that vociferously promote the extremists in politics, the extremists in media and the extremists in public practice are largely - uneducated, intellectually lazy, engaged in industries that are involved in predatory marketing or finance ... or all of the above. This is hateful group of extremists that are most suited for mobs and are hyper-selfish. I can only add that it has been my experience that the bulk of their spare time is spent engaging in activities that make them feel better or place them directly in the path of a TV screen - where most of their opinions are implanted. Freedom has its price, and a free society means we're free to do many things - including vegetating and enjoying hate. While I've always had great trepidation for the fringes of any political feather - it is most disheartening to watch a National marketing of hate become more important than our Constitution and a peaceful respectful debate that reflects civility. Now the ugly American has come home to roost and cheer other ugly Americans shouting at others to hide their shear fear.
