How we can save newspapers

A recent study in The Journal of Law, Economics and Organisation found that one of the biggest single factors in reducing corruption in a country is "the free circulation of daily newspapers per person." Mostly an accurate description of the state of the industry--which has been told before--Hari does make some good points about the importance of journalism. And, at the very end, includes a few ideas that have been tried to save the newspaper. Without more information on how they worked, they can hardly be evaluated as serious proposals.
